The Island Private School Scholarship Program

In Cyprus, there has been an initiative for many years that allows children from various families to attend an excellent school. And this is not just abstract numbers: right now, this year, 55 children are studying like this.

Each of them has a talent in some area. They came to the assessment and passed all the selection rounds on par with everyone — truly, based on their abilities. Their families found themselves in challenging situations where private schooling is not an option: some children are raised by single mothers, some have lost their fathers in battle, and in other cases, families are large, making it financially impossible for parents to afford such education.

For several years, we have been able to see how the eyes of these children light up brighter when they enter school. And while it may sound a bit grandiose — for these 55 children, it is indeed a real ticket to life. The opportunity to see that the world can be different. That it can be kind. That people help each other. That if you try, wish, and make an effort — support will surely come.

There are already 55 — real children who go to school, learn, and grow today because someone once said "yes."

This year, another 15 kids passed the selection. They have already received invitations — and now they are waiting for that moment when someone is willing to give them this chance.

Each one has their own story, and these are very touching stories:

- A versatile talented girl; her family lives modestly and is currently relocating and settling her elderly grandparents in Cyprus.

- An academically strong student from a family where the parents' income is irregular and unstable.

- A boy with excellent skills in mathematics and music — from a country where combat operations are taking place.

- A strong student whose family has suddenly lost income: one parent is out of work, and the other has had their salary cut.

- An academically strong student from a family with limited means struggling to support international school fees.

- An independent, athletic girl from a large family where the sole breadwinner has recently become unemployed.

Some of the kids have already been supported by patrons for the new school year — which is great. However, 10 scholarships still remain open. These are 10 children who have done everything on their part — and are simply waiting for someone to be there.

There are no strict commitments here. Everything depends on willingness and ability: you can support a child for one academic year, and then decide whether to continue. Every semester, donors receive reports on their charges' progress — so it is not just a transfer of funds, but the opportunity to walk alongside the child and see how they grow.

You can help with any amount — every contribution matters here. In addition to the education itself, the foundation helps cover the costs of meals, transportation, class trips, excursions, and many other aspects that make school life fulfilling. Therefore, any amount carries weight and significance — and can indeed change the course of someone's life, turning the line of someone's story.
